Good Behavior Award

February 1st will be "pajama day" for all students who had good behavior for the month of January. This will be by invitation only. Please remember to make sure the pajamas are not to tight and appropriate.

Sight Word Checks

We will be doing minute high frequency word checks weekly. You will have a copy of the sight word list to practice with your child and do your own checks at home. Please give your child one minute and then write the number on the bottom of the page under the day being checked. Remind your child to read the words from left to right and not top to bottom. Remember it is ok if they do not get a high score right now. We will see a gradual increase over the next few weeks. Our goal is to reach 52 words or more by May. Thanks for all your help!

Sam is a little pink pig. He likes to play in the mud. It is so fun to play in the mud! Write a sentence about something you like to do.

Book Suggestions

Little Critter and any Biscuit book is a great beginning reader book. Let's pick up a book and read!

A.R. has begun!

This nine weeks we will be reading and participating in the Accelerated Reader program here at TCE. Our goal is to recieve 5 points by the end of the nine weeks. That means we have to make a 100 on 10 books! I have no doubt that all my students can meet this goal. Keep practicing those sight words at home and keep reading. You may read to your child, with your child, or have them read to you. A good tip, is to ask your child to retell or draw events that occured in the story. This is a good tool to check for understanding and comprehension. We are "revin up for learning" here at TCE Motor Speedway where learning is fun!
